Creating a Mailbox rule for JMisc

  1. Go to
  2. In the top-right of the screen, click the Options down-arrow, select Create an Inbox Rule…
  3. Click New
  4. In the When the message arrives, and: field, select “it was sent to…”
  5. The Address Book will appear, type Johnson JMisc
  6. Select the Johnson JMisc Distribution List Address Book entry that appears
  7. In the Message recipients: field, click the To-> link to insert the JMisc address
  8. Click OK
  9. In the Do the following field, select "Move the message to a folder"
  10. The Select Folder dialogue appears, select your Inbox, click New Folder to create a new folder under your Inbox
  11. Name your new folder JMisc
  12. Click OK
  13. Click Save
  14. You will receive a warning message.  Click Yes to proceed.

Correcting Email settings - from Cmail to Exchange

  1. Go to
  2. Log in with your Cornell NetID
  3. Select the Electronic Mail tab
  4. Check the option to deliver your emails to Exchange
  5. Un-check the option to deliver your emails to Cmail
  6. Return to the Student Support > Devices page to configure Outlook for Exchange

Adding a CampusGroups calendar using OWA (Outlook Web App)

  1. Go to
  2. Click the Calendar tab
  3. Click the Download Calendar link
  4. Find the calendar you wish to add to Outlook, click the Outlook Calendar link
  5. Copy the URL provided in step one of the directions
  6. Log into your Cornell email account at
  7. Select Calender in the bottom-left pane
  8. Click Share / Add Calendar in the options above your calendar
  9. Choose Calendar from Internet, paste the URL provided from CampusGroups, click OK

Registering your Smart Phone on RedRover

  1. Discover your MAC Address
  • iPhone - Settings > General > About > Wi-Fi Address
  • Android - Settings > About Phone > Status > Wi-Fi Mac Address

3. Follow the steps provided to register your phone with its MAC Address.

Changing how your name displays for email and Cornell address book

  1. Go to the Student Center (
  2. Under Personal Information, click Names.

  3. In the Names table, on the Preferred row, click edit.
  4. The information you enter in the First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name fields will be used as your Exchange mail display name.
  5. Click Save when you have finished editing.
  6. Click OK when you see the Save Confirmation message. 

Booking Breakout Rooms with iCal

  1. Go to the student portal –
  2. Use the Breakouts Available module to find a room available at your preferred time.
  3. Open iCal, double-click the time slot for your preferred time.
  4. Give your meeting a name that describes its purpose.
  5. Double-click the meeting to display the meeting editor.
  6. Select the Calendar field and choose “Calendar” under Exchange.
  7. Open your Mac Address Book.
  8. Address Book will open with All Contacts displayed.  To view Johnson People and Resources, click the red bookmark tab at the top of the Address Book page.
  9. Choose  Exchange Global Address List.
  10. In the search, type “Sage Hall” (without quotes).  The breakout rooms will begin displaying.
  11. Find the room you wish to book, click on it to display the room’s email address. 
  12. Copy the room’s email address.
  13. In the iCal meeting, click Add Invitees, paste the room’s email address in the field.
  14. Enter your other meeting invitees.
  15. Click Send.
