What's New at Johnson?


The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute
Approved by the faculty and formed in September 2010, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute serves as the central place where all things entrepreneurial at the Johnson School come together, and will provide the institutional funding, management, and structure to build a top-10 entrepreneurship program in five years.

The Emerging Markets Institute
EMI was established to be premier research center that can handle the most challenging emerging market issues.  Current and future business leaders will find EMI a center for knowledge dissemination and network for lively exchange among leading thinkers, government resources and influential business decision-makers.


Maria Alexandre, Lecturer of Marketing, with a specialization in Marketing Strategy and a special interest in International Business. She taught at Case Western Reserve University, Michigan State University and University of Illinois.

Murillo Campello, Professor of Finance, has been appointed as the Lewis H. Durland Professor of Management. He was the Alan and Joyce Baltz Professor of Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research program focuses primarily on the interplay between financial contracting and real economic factors and outcomes.

Andrew Davis, Assistant Professor of Operations Management, is being appointed as the Suk Y. Cha ’84 MBA Sesquicentennial Faculty Fellow. Professor Andrew Davis comes to the Johnson School from Penn State where he is completing his PhD. He is also certified in Productions and Operations Management at CPIM-APICS.

Kenneth Merkley, Assistant Professor of Accounting, is being appointed as the Barry and Ann Ridings Sesquicentennial Faculty Fellow. Professor Kenneth Merkley comes to the Johnson School from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business where he is completing his PhD. He has taught at the University of Michigan and Brigham Young University and has also worked as an Accounting Consultant at FrontPoint Quantitative Fund.
